Rock Musician, Producer. A guitarist, he was a founding member of the 1970s Scottish hard rock band Nazareth. His family relocated to Dunfermline, Scotland during his early youth and during his teenage years, he learned to play the guitar. After acquiring experience in several bands during the 1960s, he co-founded Nazareth in 1968 which led to the recording of their self-titled, debut album in 1971. Nazareth will be best remembered for the single "Love Hurts" from their 1975 album "Hair of the Dog" which achieved a number eight placing and gold record status on the American Billboards Hot 100 pop singles chart in early 1976. During the 1980s, he produced early demos by the American hard rock band "Guns N' Roses (GNR)." He went on to front his own ensemble "The Manny Charlton Band."
