Lillie Mae Barber Sliger, 65, died Saturday afternoon (6-22-02) at her residence after an extended illness. She was a life long resident of Ware County, daughter of the late Giddeon Preston Cox and widow of the late William Sliger.
She was a member of the Swamp Road Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her first husband Edward O. Barber, Jr., two sons Eugene and Ray Barber and a brother John Leonard Cox.
She is survived by a son Donnie Barber and his wife Becky of Waycross; four daughters Phyllis Boyette and her husband James, Linda Nelson and her husband Rick and Laura Barber all of Waycross, Brenda King and her husband Seab, Jr. of Richmond, Va.; her mother Annie Louise Cox Page of Waycross; a special friend Albert Sidney Brown of Waycross; two sisters Mildred Hendrix and her husband Fleming of Waycross and Eloise Wilkins and her husband Brian of Dothan, Ala.; a brother Preston Cox and his wife Barbara of Waycross; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon (6-25-02) at four o'clock in the chapel of the Miles-Odum Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Suwannee Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home from seven until nine o'clock Monday night.
