Sheila Matilda May Finnie of New Maryland, NB passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital on July 5, 2022. She was born on March 12, 1956 at McAdam, NB, a daughter of the late Calvin and Frances (Wright) Laking.
Sheila was a member of the Williams Lake Square Dancers. She enjoyed exploring and driving down old country roads and wandering through nature. Spending time at the McAdam Campground on Wauklehegan Lake was one of her favourite places to be. Her granddaughter Claire was the light of her life and she enjoyed the times spent with her and her dog Mr. Nibbles and she had many friends that were considered special family.
She is survived by her daughter, Shulilah Laking (Rick Dubue), New Maryland, NB; a granddaughter Claire Dubue; four brothers, Weldon Laking (Deanna), Nackawic, Larry Laking, Raymond Laking both of McAdam, NB and Eldon Laking (Janet), Fredericton, NB; a sister Amelia MacAusland, Summerside, PE; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Michael Finnie; her parents; a brother Walter Laking; a sister Patricia LaKing and a brother-in-law, Clinton MacAusland.
