Keith R. Davis long-time resident of Greenfield passed away on July 4 after a brief illness. Born February 8, 1930, Keith is survived by his wife of nearly 68 years, Delores (Dee) (Barnes) Davis (87); a son, Kevin L. Davis (63); 7 grandchildren: Kyle (Sarah), Kristin Scheib (Sam), Tyler (Scott), Eric (Taylor), Chelsea, Adam (Claire), and Molly. Keith has 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Kirby Davis of Holly Springs, NC and his parents Russell and Louise (Parish) Davis of New Castle, IN.

After attending Ball State University as an undergraduate, Keith proudly served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Riley, KS. Keith returned to Indiana with his bride, Dee, to begin to a long career as a teacher and school administrator, mostly in Hancock County. Keith received his MS in School administration and superintendent's license through Butler University.

Keith's roles as a school administrator spanned many years. Keith served the public education system at Greenfield High School (assistant principal), New, Palestine High School (principal), Weston Elementary (principal), Lincoln Park Elementary (principal), Greenfield-Central Schools (assistant superintendent) and Eastern Hancock (superintendent).

Keith retired from Eastern Hancock at the age of 55 and began spending more time traveling, playing golf, and helping Dee run "D's Cakery" a cake and catering fixture in downtown Greenfield during the 1980's. Always active in his community, Keith was a member of Bradley United Methodist Church, Greenfield Lions' Club and other projects and causes in the community.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 12 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with funeral services following at noon. Inurnment will be held at Park Cemetery, on a date that has yet to be determined.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bradley United Methodist Church in Greenfield.
