Michael Olsen
Michael Olsen, 63, passed away June 12, 2022, at his home in Eugene, Oregon. Mike is survived by his mother, Mary Olsen (father Ron Olsen passed in 2006), sister and brother-in-law, Kelley & Chris Kline; nephew, Tucker and niece, Katie. Brother, sister-in-law Jeff & Darcy Olsen, and nephews, Ryan, Alec, Austin & niece Halle.
Mike grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from Marist Catholic High School in 1977.
He started his career in law enforcement at a young age. He joined the explorer scouts at 16. Followed by working for Tri-Agency Animal Control, Lane County Sheriff's Department, City of Coburg Police Department, Junction City Police Department, Private Investigator for the Law Office of Terri Wood, owned his own private investigator business, Olsen Investigations, and most recently, an Investigator for the Lane County Public Defender's office. Mike was highly respected for his integrity, honesty, steadfast dedication, and respect for his profession.
Mike was of constant service to others, a generous mentor to many, especially the most vulnerable. He never knew a stranger and was willing to help, sponsor, pray and listen to anyone who needed guidance, spiritual support, or a helping hand. Mike had a gentle way of making those in his life feel valued and loved.
Mike loved the outdoors, working in his yard "Monterey Park," exploring back roads in his jeep, fishing, tending goats and farm animals in Fall Creek, and sharing endless stories outside at his picnic table.
All are welcome to attend a Catholic Mass on July 20 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1201 Satre Street, Eugene.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on July 20, 2022, at Mary Olsen's home.
