Rita Marie McIntyre, 71, of Mount Perry, passed away at 12:08 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Genesis Emergency Department in Zanesville.

Rita was born November 22, 1950, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Walter Raymond and Mary Josephine (Hursey) Shrider.

She was a 1968 graduate of Sheridan High School and received a Bachelor's degree of Education from Capital University and a Master of Education from Ashland University.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Zanesville.

Rita taught art from 1973-2004 in Northern Local School District. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Perry County Retired Teachers Association.

Rita enjoyed growing flowers, painting, and taking pictures.

Rita loved family gatherings and sharing a meal with her loved ones.

She grew up playing softball and her love of sports didn't stop there. In college she was on the bowling team at Capital University and even learned to play golf later in life.

Yet through all her hobbies and interests, Rita's passion to teach and help students discover their love of art gave her an immense amount of joy.
