Lana Kaye Jones, 74, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed on July 1, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 17, 1947, in Stockton, California, to Felix and Hazel (nee Ockerman) Kimmel. Lana served the State of Oklahoma for more than 25 years working in public service in child welfare. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Lana is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Wren and husband Andy of the home; son, Gary "Butch" Joses of Irving, Texas; and daughter, Kristi Cowan and husband Michael of The Woodlands, Texas. Her grandchildren include Drew Wren, Courtney Wren, Chase Wren, and Graham Cowan, as well as two great-granddaughters. Other survivors are brother-in-law, Joel Jones and wife Linda; brother, Felix D. "Snookie" Kimmel and wife Betty and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may wish to remember Lana by making donations to CASA, Toys for Tots, or Options, Inc.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Hunn Funeral Home in Checotah. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Checotah, OK.
