Nancy grew up on the family farm in Brook/Rensselaer, IN where she was active in band, choir, flag corps, sports, and 4-H. She graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 1968 and continued her education at Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, receiving her Registered Nursing license in 1971. Nancy worked a couple of nursing jobs in Florida, South Carolina, and at Arnett Clinic in Lafayette before finding her passion as the Nursing Supervisor at the Jasper County Health Department where she worked for the last 41 ½ years of her career. During that time, she taught prenatal classes at Jasper County Hospital for 14 years.
Nancy was an avid Purdue fan and reader. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer and several community organizations including: First Steps, Little Cousin Jasper Committee, Safe Kids, LAPC, and the Halloween Party Planning Committee.
Surviving Nancy is her loving family, son Ryan Meunier of West Lafayette, IN; daughter Kara (husband Bill) Parker, of Rensselaer, IN; brother, Melvin (wife Mary) Hitchings of Brook, IN; grandchildren, Brett Bulington, Evan Bulington, Ryanna Meunier, Austin Parker, Conner Parker, Emily Parker; and was expecting her first great grandchild Emberly Bulington later this month. Also surviving Nancy were many nieces, nephews, and a great network of friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alice Hitchings.
