GREGORY, Robert Owen "Bob", age 83, of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Robert was born on June 17, 1938 in White Plains, New York, raised in Elmsford, New York, and graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School, White Plains, New York in 1955. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1956. He was transferred to the Naval Air Station, Alameda California, from the Naval Air Test Center Patuxant River, Maryland. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Kurowsky on November 29, 1958. Bob hired on with the NCR Corporation in Oakland, California in 1959. In 1963 NCR asked Bob to take a 2 year assignment in Dayton, which lasted 31 years. Bob retired from NCR in 1994 after 35 years of service in several Marketing assignments. During Bob's NCR years he served 8 years on the Board of NCR Country Club serving as President for 3 years. After the US Woman's Open Golf Championship in 1986 Bob was involved with the USGA in the formation in Dayton District Golf Association (DDGA). In retirement Bob served several years as a board member of the NCR Retired Employee Association (NCR REA) 3 years as its President. In retirement Bob worked 20 years as a starter at the Yankee Trace golf course and drove a School Bus for Bellbrook Schools for 20 years, 10 years full time and 10 years as a substitute driver. In his later years Bob volunteered at the Museum of the United States Air Force serving as a tour guide. Bob was a charter member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He served as an usher and a lay distributor. Bob chaired the building committee which moved the parish to the Wilmington Pike location. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gloria; children, Susan (Russ) Floreske of Washington, Karen (Dennis) Hoover of Port Clinton, Gary (Lisa) of California, Ken (Tracey) of Washington Township, Diane (John) Dobran of Centerville; 7 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 4 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; and sister, Joan Troisi of New York. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Suncrest Hospice for their love and care of their husband and father. Family will greet friends 9:30-10:30AM on Tuesday, June 14 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45459. Services are in the care of ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, KETTERING. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Suncrest Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
