Lillian Inetta Conner Scott, age 73, a resident of the Bridge Creek community in Ponce De Leon, Florida, died Monday, June 20, 2022 at Flower's Hospital in Dothan, Alabama surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 20, 1948 to Elmer E. Conner and Mary E. Somerset Conner of Geneva, Alabama. Lillian was a graduate of Geneva High School class of 1967. She worked in the lunchroom for Ponce De Leon Elementary and High School for 33 years until her retirement in July of 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer E. Conner and Mary E. Somerset Conner; sister, Patricia Conner Cape; brother, Tommy Conner; and niece, Melanie Cape Carr.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Freddie Scott; children, Tammy Scott Bates (Michael) and Tracy Scott; grandchildren, Jarid Bates (Kellsey), Derek Bates (Allison), Taylor Peacock and Katelynn Cooper; great-grandchildren, Brytin Bates, Lillian Berg, Easton Montgomery, Ryah Bates, Kysen Cooper, Ava Bates and two new additions arriving December 2022 and January 2023; siblings, Dovie Conner Thames (Burley), David Conner (Inez), and Bill Conner (Judy); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

The family has requested that monetary donations be made in Lillian's name to Bridge Creek Baptist Church 2581 Highway 183A, Ponce De Leon, Florida 32455, in lieu of flowers or food.

To honor Lillian's wishes, a private cremation took place at Davis Watkins Funeral Homes & Crematory. It was her request to keep things as simple and as painless as possible for her family, so no services or memorials will be held. As in life, she was thinking of others instead of herself. May this be a lesson for us all.
