Rex Albert Hamock, 93, of Kokomo, passed away 6:40 pm Sunday July 3, 2022, the 74th anniversary of his marriage with Margaret Ruth Harbison. He was born in Montgomery County, IN, on October 15, 1928, the son of the late Willis A. and Vera N. (Poole) Hamock. He graduated from Union Township High School in 1946. On July 3, 1948, he married Margaret Ruth Harbison, and she survives.

Rex was a 1946 graduate of Union Township High School. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Rex was employed by Chrysler Corporation for 30 years as an employee supervisor. He was a committed member of South Side Christian Church. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, particularly watching his grandchildren play.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Judith A. (Daniel) Weaver, Stacy L. (Rick Lushin) Shafer; grandchildren, Autumn (Hans) Griepentrog, Allison (Justin) Foust, Aaron Weaver, Austin (Kelsey) Weaver, Halen (Tylie) Shafer, Shaylee (Adam Clark) Shafer; great-grandchildren, Aiden Griepentrog, Amelia Griepentrog, Charley Foust, Bailey Foust, Cooper Weaver, Koven Shafer, and expecting Kaydence Weaver; brother, Max Hamock; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Teresa K. Hamock; sisters, Betty L. McMurtry and Esther L. Jeffries; brother, Ray A. Hamock.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday July 9, 2022, at South Side Christian Church, 201 East Markland Ave., Kokomo, IN 46901. Funeral service will begin at 1 pm on Saturday at the church, with Pastor Rex Kibler and Pastor Steve Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rex's memory to South Side Christian Church.
