David Burl Pierce, 68, longtime Seminole resident, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. David was born on August 22, 1948 to Dempsey Burl Pierce and Irene Lilly (Gaylor) Pierce. David attended schools in ONG and New Lima. David was a propane service driver. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of E-4. David married Frances Billie Pierce on December 22, 1973 in Seminole County. David loved collecting Star Trek memorabilia and watching Sci- Fi movies, and enjoyed being outdoors and shooting Bows and Arrows. David is survived by his wife Frances Pierce of Seminole, Oklahoma, one son Stuart Burl Pierce and his wife Jessica Lynn of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, one brother Ronnie Pierce and his wife Linda of Guthrie, Oklahoma, three sisters Sue Estep and her husband Richard of Seminole, Oklahoma, Helen Jones of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Patsy Davis and her husband Jeff of Holdenville, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren Tessa Brianne Pierce of Chandler, Oklahoma, Jordan Burl Pierce and his wife Kristen, Dawn (Wade) Pierce of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Davis Austin Pierce of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cassidy Lynn Pierce, Matthew Harold Pierce, Samantha Nichole Pierce and Garrett Reed Pierce all of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma. David has three great grandchildren Jaxon Ray Wade of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Jordynn Raylynn Rector and Skylynn Addison Rector of Chandler, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Henry Pierce, Ralph Pierce and Glenn Leon Pierce, one brother-in-law Jim Jones. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday March 13, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with burial following at Little Cemetery with military honors. Thomas Lee Billie Jr., his brother-in-law will officiate at the services. Casket bearers will be Dennis Billie, Wade Pierce, Keith Estep, Thomas Davis, Scott Pierce and Nathaniel Sanchez. Honorary bearers will be Richard Estep, Ronnie Pierce and Eddie Bailey. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
