Moore, Col. John Arthur - 80, passed away June 28th, 2022 at MGH from complications of multiple hemorrhagic strokes he sustained in the last year. A lifelong resident of Somerville MA and Northeastern University honors graduate student 1964, Mr Moore had an impressive lifelong career in the Army National Guard where he rose from the ranks of MP all the way to Colonel.
In the private sector he was a training instructor for the department of correction. John was a proud fraternal brother of the Freemasons at the major general Henry Knox Lodge, Aleppo Shriner and also an Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company brother which is the oldest chartered military organization in the western hemisphere.

Aside from his wife and family, Johns Greatest devotion was to the military and supporting numerous veterans groups, causes, and charitable donations throughout his life. John's other favorite hobbies and past times include traveling, loved great conversation, reading, nature strolls, waterfront lounging and was an avid New England patriots fan and enjoyed going to all the games.

He is survived by his beloved wife Karin (Fagerstorm) Moore. Devoted son of the late John Harvery and Sarah Fannie (French) Moore originally from Newfoundland Canada. Cherished step father of Scott Pepe. Loving grandfather of Zackery Pepe. Dear brother of the late David More of Somerville. Cousin of Brice Earl and his wife Barbara of West Hill Ontario.

Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Tuesday July 5th, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
A Funeral procession will be held on Wednesday morning July 6th, 2022 from the Doherty Funeral Home beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by a graveside service at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody at 10:30 AM. Services conclude burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
