On Saturday, November 4, 2017, Theresa Louise West transitioned from her earthly life into eternity.
Theresa Louise West was born on January 11, 1949 to the late James and Georgia Mae West in Newport, Arkansas. She was raised in Newport and later moved to West Helena, Arkansas where she graduated from Eliza Miller High School in 1966. After graduation she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she began working for the Social Security Administration. She retired after working for more than 35 years for the Social Security Administration. Theresa was a member of the Fulfilled Purpose International Ministries Church in Chicago, Illinois under the leadership of Reverend Bishop Smith, where she was very active in her church. Theresa relocated to Arkansas in early 2017 due to health reasons. Theresa loved cooking, reading and attending church but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and her family.
Theresa is survived by her Significant Other, William West of Chicago, IL; two sons: Burton West (Kim), Memphis TN and Jason West, Meza AZ; seven grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Brandon West and Shakela Hill, Little Rock AR; D'Andre West (Christina), Kimberly West and Kendall West all of Jonesboro AR; Diontae West of Baltimore MA, Daryess West, Union Town PA and Logan West, Meza AZ and six great grandchildren. To further cherish her memories, she leaves four sisters: Maxine Phillips, West Palm Beach FL: Emma Jean Young, Victorville CA; Lacey Gordon and Shelia Olloway (Dennis), West Helena AR; six brothers Tommy West, Pasadena CA; Jimmy West (Lucy), Newport AR; Perry West, Chicago IL; Kirk West, West Helena AR; Eric West (Jacqueline), Jonesboro AR and Kevin Warren (Tanya), Walls MS and one sister in law, Deborah Feemster of Marianna AR. She also leaves a special niece and nephew who became her caregivers when she moved to Arkansas – April Jackson Mayfield (Sedric) and Antione Leaks, Sr. Her life was full of friends who loved her; she held close to her heart three lifelong friends: Marilyn Shane, Eva Robinson and Shirley Woodard all of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins who she was raised with and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Georgia Mae West and two brothers Eddie West and Jeffrey Feemster.
