Larry Wayne Brown, 75, passed away June 30, 2022 at his residence.

Larry was born June 23, 1947 in Bluffton, Indiana and was the son of the late Donald Eugene Brown and Waneta Marie (Kean) Brown.

Larry was a graduate of Bluffton High School Class of 1965. Following graduation from high school Larry honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Larry joined the Muncie Police Department in 1971, serving the citizens of Muncie for 30 years retiring in 2001, with 4 years as Deputy Chief of Police. He was a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA.

Larry was very active in the Masonic Organization. He served as Past Master of Whitney Lodge #229 and Parker Lodge 630. He served as the Right Eminent Past Grand Commander of Indiana. Larry was the past East Central Department Commander of the Knights Templar Grand Encampment. He was an Illustrious 33 Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne.

Larry was a member of New Burlington United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He loved traveling, fishing, gardening, being outdoors and trap shooting. Larry loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Suanna Marie (McClain) Brown; five children Larry Wayne Brown II (Kristi), Tonya Howard (Bob), Jason Ridge (Danelle), Aaron Ridge (Carrie) and Amy Ridge; ten grandchildren, Larry Wayne Brown III, Elizabeth Brown, Daryn Bourne, Taylor Bourne, Aspyn Howard, Marcus Ridge, Gemma Ridge, Annika Ridge, Kendall Hill and Chloe Hill; an aunt and several cousins also survive.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Aaron Koons, brother John Michael Brown and two grandsons Elliot and Gabriel Ridge.

Funeral Services for Larry will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Edward Armantrout officiating. Entombment will follow with military honors being conducted by the United States Air Force and The Delaware County Honor Guard at The Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. The Knights Templar Guard will conduct a Lodge of Sorrow Service, Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
