While the family was living in Dodge Co., Wisconsin in the 1850's and early 1860's she met Herbert Oliver. Elizabeth and Herbert were married after the Civil war (in which Herbert took part) in Mower County Minnesota on December 3, 1867.

Four children were born to this union. George Ira was born about 1868, Junietta in Sept 1872, Edna in 1874 and Jessie May on Oct 23, 1879.

Elizabeth moved to Dakota Territory after Herbert Oliver and Byron Cochrane scouted the area and found a place to live. Elizabeth and Herbert made their home on what is generally concidered the Bostic farm on the Northeast corner or Lake Cochrane

In the early 1900's the family moved into Gary where on March 5 Herbert died and two days later Elizabeth died. According to the death certificate prepared by Dr. Pinard of Gary, Elizabeth died of pnuemonia.
