Lynne (Taylor) Sterling, 81, of Granby, wife of the late David C. Sterling, and beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully on June 25th, 2022, at McLean.
Lynne was born in Hartford on November 18th, 1940, to adoring parents Olga (Edelman) and Clyde Taylor of Wethersfield.
The family soon moved to Suffield where they resided for many years.
Lynne attended Suffield schools, ultimately serving as the Class Valedictorian for the class of 1958.
Lynne then attended Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA on an academic scholarship.
She graduated with a BA degree in History in 1962.
Soon after graduation, Lynne began her professional career at CIGNA in Bloomfield.
In 1965, Lynne accepted a position at ITT Hartford, in Hartford, where she worked for much of her career.
While working for The Hartford, Lynne met and married the love of her life, David.
The couple married on March 23, 1968, in Suffield.
They remained happily wed until David's death in 2016.
During these years, Lynne also had two children.
They chose to raise their family in Granby where they remained for over 40 years.
After having her children, Lynne devoted most of her time to her family and her community.
Lynne served as P.T.O. President from 1983-1985, and P.T.O. Chairman from 1985-1986.
Lynne volunteered for many local organizations including the Granby Recreational department where she coached baseball, soccer, and archery.
She and David were active in the Granby Land Trust for many years.

She and David had a fierce love of animals and assisted in finding homes for many feral cats.

Lynne was predeceased by her parents and husband.
She leaves her son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Kelly, and granddaughter Kathleen of Granby, and her daughter Suzanne Amicucci and grandson Chase of Murrells Inlet, SC.

Visitation was held at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home in Granby.
Burial was private.
