James Cooper of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Friday, July 1, 2022 at Grand View Hospital. He was 83 years old. James was born April 25, 1939 in Wildwood, New Jersey, son of the late Leroy Cooper and the late Margaret Cooper. He is the beloved husband of Jane (nee Uerkvitz) Cooper; father of Stephanie Eppler and her husband Scott, Michael Zalesky, James R. Cooper, and Sharon Isabella; grandfather of Russell, Lauren, Allison, Vincent, Andrew, Nicholas, Ashley, Anthony, Kylee, and Peyton; great grandfather of Charles and Asher. He is also survived by his brother William Cooper.

Jim was born, raised, and educated in Cape May County, NJ. He was a graduate of Cape May High School before joining the US Army National Guard. After one year in the National Guard, Jim transferred to the US Air Force where he spent four years until his discharge in 1962. Jim worked for thirty years as a Power Dispatcher for Philadelphia Electric. He met Jane through his daughter Stephanie. The two would have celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary this August.

Jim had many talents and hobbies including playing the guitar, metal detecting, gold dredging, fishing ("with corn" as he told his grandkids), scuba diving, and home improvements, which he shared his talents with his kids on their homes. His greatest love was spending time with his growing family.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service will follow with military honors rendered by the United States Air Force at 1:30 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
