Mrs. Bertha Ferris died at Osborne, Kansas, January 25, 1902.
Bertha Elizabeth Bliss was born at Orleans county, New York, June 25, 1834, and moved with her bars about 1846 to Dance county, Wisconsin. There she was married to J. L. Dailey September 20, 1849. Mr. Daily enlisted in the 36th regiment, Wisconsin volunteer infantry, in 1864, and died August 16, 1864, at Arlington, Height, Washington, D. C. Two children survive, E. B. Dailey, of Topeka, Kansas, and J. L,. Daily of Hill City, Kansas. On October 20, 1869, she was married to William Ferris, who also was a soldier, of the 111th Ohio volunteers. The family moved to Poweshiek County, Iowa in 1870, and in 1871 moved to Osborne county, and settled near Bristow. Mr. Ferris died August 20, 1879. Two children were born to them. W. W. Ferris, and Mrs. Eva Hawkins.
