Steve was born in Asheville to the late Jasper and Patricia Dixon Johnson.
Steve was a simple man who cared deeply for his wife, family and friends. He was an observant man, with a well-timed sense of humor. While his primary love was his wife, his passion was for trading antiques. Many would say he was "the best picker in town." He was trusted and respected by many. He willingly shared his wisdom and experience to help others along the way. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Kilpatrick Johnson; a son, Jonathan Johnson (Jenna); two step sons, Ryan Barnett (Samantha) and Joshua Barnett (Amber); two brothers, David Johnson and Mike Johnson (Janet) and four grandchildren, Crew and Barrett Johnson and Titus and Ayla Barnett.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 10:00 am at Tweed's Chapel Cemetery off Cane Creek Road in Fletcher.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
