Ada Jean (Haws) Lanham, age 90, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on July 7, 2022. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and her remains will be interred at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas. The graveside service will be Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 3:00 pm.

Ada was born on March 11, 1932, in Belton, Texas, to parents William and Marbra Haws. She spent her early years in Belton and attended elementary school there. Her family, including her grandmother, relocated to Brenham when she was about 10 and she attended Brenham Intermediate School and Brenham High School, graduating with honors. Ada also attended Blinn College. Later in life, she was employed as an assistant product buyer for Joske's Dept. Store, which was later acquired by Dilliard's.

When Ada was attending Blinn College, she was a member of Brenham Church of Christ. There she met "Aunt Lula," who told her she wanted her to meet her nephew, Jack, who was home on leave from the Navy. Aunt Lula told Jack he was going to church with her to meet a young lady. The rest was history. On September 13, 1952, Ada was united in marriage to Jack Lanham. They were married for over 60 years prior to his passing in 2014. Ada and Jack were blessed with a son and a daughter, Darrell Keigm and Alison Elaine. Ada and Jack eventually moved to Pasadena with their jobs, raising their children there and returning to Brenham upon retirement. They loved to travel, visiting our national parks and landmarks. They also were avid Country and Western music fans, attending monthly shows for years in Giddings. They also went to Branson, Missouri several times to see their favorite performers (Andy Williams, Ray Stevens, Mel Tillis) Most special to both were trips made to see Jack's Navy friends, all of whom remained lifelong friends.

Ada was a longtime member of the Brenham Church of Christ, and the Central Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas. After losing Jack in 2014, her favorite pastimes were music, ice cream, and old movies. Most of all, she loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was completely devoted to her faith and her family. Ada lived a wonderful example of a Christian life. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Ada is survived by sister Nadine Sherman, son Darrell Keigm Lanham and wife Debra of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, daughter Alison Supak of Brenham; she was "Granny" to her beloved grandchildren Brett and Brian Gaskamp, Candice Lanham Belk, and Charles Lanham; great-grandchildren Iris Stone, Aubrey Gaskamp, Latisha James, Lily and Zoey Lanham, Charlie Harris, Tanner and Julie Belk, and nephews Guy and Scott Sherman.

Ada is preceded in death by her parents and husband Jack.
