Carol J. Ross was on born July 20, 1941, in Elkhorn, WI. and died on July 2, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL. Carol was the daughter of Melvern and Margaret (Strauss) Harrison, of Sharon, WI.
She graduated from Badger High School, Lake Geneva, WI and became a telephone operator for Wisconsin Bell. She married her high school sweetheart, Roy G. Ross, on January 21, 1961, at First Lutheran Church, Lake Geneva. She worked for Sterling High School as a school secretary and later for Associates Finance, Sterling, Dixon National Bank and Amcore Bank, Sterling. Carol loved children and taught Sunday School for many years at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for all three of her daughters and volunteered for the Northern Illinois Girl Scout Council Office, Freeport, IL. Carol loved to sew, play cards with friends and family, swim and spend time with her grandchildren.
Survived by her three daughters and their spouses; her three grandchildren; two great-grandsons Lochlan and her eldest sister; sister and brother-in-law and six nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Melvern and Margaret (Strauss) Harrison; husband, Roy Ross; sister, Peggy (Strauss) Burchard; brothers-in-law, Virgil Burchard and Harvey Larson and nieces, Melissa Larson and Trisha (Burchard) Frayne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Reverend Daniel Behmlander officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
