Jesse Lucas Jr. peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 18th, 2018. He was born on June 14th, 1934 in Caldwell, Texas to Jesse Lucas Sr. and Rosie Lee Lucas.

After graduating from Jones High School in Snook, Texas, Jesse enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas, Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California, one tour of duty at Da Nang Air Base in Vietnam and two tours of duty at Osan Air Base in Korea. He returned to Davis Monthan Air Force Base in 1973 where he retired after 20 years of service.

After retiring from the military, Jesse decided to continue his education, attending Pima Community College, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and Northern Arizona University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Jesse taught vocational education for Pima Community College and the State of Arizona for seventeen years.

Jesse was also a licensed and ordained minister. He served as Senior Pastor at Westside Church of God, Tucson, Arizona from 1983 to 1998. He also served as Associate Pastor at First Church of God, Tucson, Arizona under Pastor Robert Siebels for four years and Pastor Mike Simpson until his passing. During this time, he served on various state committees in the late 80s and 90s, including Chairman of the Church of God (AZ) Credential's Committee and Vice President of the Interdenominational Minister's Alliance (AZ).

Jesse had a variety of hobbies, but none like bowling. He bowled for over 40 years and scored a rare, perfect 300 game in 1992. He also loved fishing, boating, camping and RVing.

In 1954, Jesse married his high school sweetheart Jerelene Franklin. To this union two sons were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lucas Sr., Rosie Lee Lucas (Thornton) and sister Janie Mae King. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years, Jerelene (Jeri), sons Anthony Wayne (Pauletta) and Jesse III of Tucson, sister Martha Ann Allen of Richmond, California, sisters-in-law Ora Lee Price, of Somerville, Texas, Moshall McNeil of Caldwell, Texas, four grandchildren, DeVonne Lewis Iidamlendo (Symon) of South Bend, Indiana, Micheal Lewis Jr (Brooke) of Tucson, Anthony Lucas Jr. of Tucson, George Lucas of Tucson, six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
