GREENVILLE-Katy J. Smith, 58, of Lowndes, died Friday Feb. 10, 2006 at her residence.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 12, 1947 in Greenville. She attended New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Silva and was a home health care aide for Wayne County Health Center. She enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, gardening and family gatherings.
On June 1, 1968, she married Darrell Smith. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons Joseph Dale Smith of Fort Benning, GA and Shannon Smith of Greenville; two brothers Roy Bollinger of Piedmont and Jerry Bollinger of Silva; one sister Joyce Warrick of Silva; and two grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6-9 pm today at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. The funeral will be at 1 pm Monday in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Gray and Bill Sargent officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Dixon in Hiram. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
