MADELENE L. SHOREY; BURLINGTON - Madelene L. Shorey, 81, died July 20, 1989, at Howland. She was born at Rumford, June 12, 1908, the daughter of Roland and Lenora (Porter) Ewings. She was a member of the Hilltop Club and a memer of the Willing Workers. She is survived by her husband, Clyde of Burlington; two sons, Orland and Clyde Jr., both of Burlington; five daughters, Lillian Thomas of Burlington, Lenora Priest of Lowell, Barbara Smith and Lora Harding, both of Burlington, Hope Colby of Gardiner; one brother, Lawrence Ewings of Lincoln; two sisters Louetta Richardson of Stuart, Fla. and Statia Mason of Lincoln; 28 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay, Stevens & Clay Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Theodore Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Mount Repose Cemetery, Burlington.
