Celebrating the life of local business leader and family patriarch, John Forno Mason Sr., who lost his battle against Parkinson's disease on Friday, June 17th, 2022.

He was a near life-long Brooksville resident, trusted business owner, strong community social group member, congregate of the First United Methodist Church, and faithful, loving family man.

John was born August 14, 1928 in Palmetto, Florida to Henrietta and Albert Mason Jr. He graduated from Hernando High School in 1947 and entered and then graduated from the University of Florida (Gainesville) in 1951 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. John went on to establish and own Mason Ford Tractor in Brooksville (1957), set several yearly sales records, and was often honored and praised by his peers. John continued working until his age of 85. John married Marilyn L. Oyler on September 29, 1961 and raised their family until her death in 2013.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn and his daughter, Jill McKee.

John maintained various memberships in community groups that included Brooksville Rotary, Hernando County Fair Association, Hernando Historical Society, Hernando County Cattleman's Association, Hernando County Aviation Authority, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, as well as other community associations and groups.

In death as in life, John was a God-fearing man. His faith and values continue to live through the family he leaves behind. Let us always remember that John was a loyal and faithful servant to others.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Brooksville, where Funeral Services begin at 11:00am, with Reverend David Hope officiating. A private burial service will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
