Dianne Hartsfield Harrison, 80, passed away Thursday morning, June 30. She was a true native of Greensboro, NC. Born September 10, 1941, she lived in Greensboro her entire life with exception of about 9 years in Chapel Hill. She attended Lindley Elementary and Junior High and Greensboro High School (class of '59). She was a long-time student at Guilford College and finished, with honors, her degree in Management in '84. Dianne was a career employee of Guilford College. While she started in Continuing Education, she spent most of her years in the Financial Aid office. When she retired, she was the Director of Financial Aid, some 40+ years after beginning at Guilford.
Always available for a laugh and lots of beautiful smiles, Di was almost always up for social activities. She loved to talk, loved to shop, loved her cat, and loved her family and friends. She never met anyone she didn't like. Horseback riding, dirt bikes and bicycles were part of her life. Travel was one of her favorite things—yearly beach trips with "the girls," traveling on financial aid conferences, and trips with her family--San Francisco was a true favorite.
She is predeceased by her father, Charles G. Hartsfield; her mother, Lecye E. Hartsfield; and her ex-husband, A. Wayne Harrison. Dianne is survived by her loving companion of 45 years, H. Cleve Anthony III; her son, C. Ashmore Harrison; her grandson, William N. Harrison; and her sister, Carolyn H. Cooley. Also, her brother-in-law, David E. Cooley; her two nephews, W. David Cooley and Bryan H. Cooley, Sr. The entire Cooley family, their children and grandchildren were truly dear to her.
Arrangements are as follows: Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 10:00 am will be visitation at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel at 5926 W. Friendly Ave, Greensboro NC 27410; 11:00 am Service immediately following; then interment at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd (High Point Rd.), Greensboro NC, 27407. Flowers may be sent to the Funeral Home, or any donations may be made in memoriam to Guilford College, 5800 W Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410.
