Jerry A. Harris passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 27, 2022. Jerry was born in 1943 in Amarillo, TX to Charles and Anne Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 51 years Sylvia. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly and son-in-law David McAndrew, Felicia and son-in-law Steven Goldberg; his brother Maury and sister-in-law Laurie Harris; Granddaughters Tanya and Megan McAndrew and Jessica McAndrew-Guerra and her husband Juan Guerra and Sarah and Julia Goldberg and Great Granddaughter Rebecca McAndrew.
Jerry grew up in Waco Texas and went to the University of Texas. In 1962 he married his wife Sylvia and shortly afterwards moved to Houston. In 1969 Jerry started his own business Harris Leasing Company and helped many of Houston large business get their start. Jerry was an active member and past president of the University Area Rotary. Jerry enjoyed doing service projects with Rotary such as working at the Boys and Girls Club and his passion of the past 10 years of working on the Rotary Firefighters Home. Jerry was also an active member of the SP Waltrip Masonic Lodge achieving the highest degrees there.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 11 AM, at Congregation Beth Israel Memorial Garden in The Proler Chapel at I-10 and Antoine (1101 Antoine, Houston 77055).
