Fred Buttram, 76, of Helenwood, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 1985.

He was a member of Oneida Church of God and a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Carson Buttram.

Survivors include five daughters: Ruby Green, Princess Lowe, Althea Yancey, Geraldine Byrge, and Betty Yancey; four sons: James, Denzil, J. R., and Glenn Buttram, all of Oneida; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Nancy Cotton of Oneida, and Mary Lee Strunk of Helenwood; four brothers: Archie Buttram of Helenwood, Kelly and Lewie Buttram, both of LaFollette, and Joe Buttram of Petros.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, at the Oneida Church of God, Rev Harvey Hensley, Rev. Landon Sexton, and Rev. Jerry Feathers officiating. Interment was in the Peaceful Rose Gardens at Helenwood. Cross Funeral Home of LaFollette was in charge of arrangements.
