Lloyd was born on June 26, 1932, in Montour Falls, NY, to the late Harold Smith and Josephine Carrigan. He joined the Navy in 1950 and served on the USS Paricutin during the Korean War. He was employed by NCR and Cornell University as a tool and die maker. He spent 67 years with the love of his life, Carol Bower. He enjoyed outdoor activities and sports including softball, shooting archery, hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. He also refereed high school and college wrestling for many years and was regarded as one of the best.
While he is no longer here, pieces of him will forever live on as he is survived by his loved ones including his beloved wife, Carol Smith; daughters Yvonne Tracy, Sheri Addy, and Vicky Smith-Oliver (Keith Oliver); grandchildren, Danny Addy (Heidi), Matthew Addy (Nicole), Melissa Tracy, Emilee Tracy-Arm (Aaron), Dakota Smith (Pearl McKinley), and Daisy Smith (Ray Sanchez III); as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and more.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St., Route 13, Horseheads, NY, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with a memorial service and military honors to follow.
