Katherine was born in Wanamie, PA to her parents, the late James and Mary Swanberry.
She was a graduate of Newport High School in Newport Township, PA.
Helping out in the war efforts of World War II at a young age, Kaye traveled with her close high school friend throughout the country to do their part. She worked numerous jobs including as a riveter in an airplane hanger.
She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas P. Gregory, at Camp Crowder, MO, on June 23, 1945. They lived for a short time in Texas, and then returned back to their hometown in Pennsylvania before relocating to Schenectady to raise their family.
Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who called her "Grammy", brought her great joy in life. She was a devoted wife and homemaker enjoying everything that had to do with creating a happy caring home. She always carried herself with dignity, grace, and style. Family vacations were a special time and hold many wonderful memories. She often said "I lived a good life".
Katherine leaves behind three daughters and a son. Maria and her husband Timothy, and their children, Christopher and Jill. Trisha and her husband Steven, and their children, Jeanna, Gregory, and Stevee Kaye. Katie and her husband Mark, and their children, Adeline and Lucas. Thomas Allen Gregory and his wife Cynthia Marie Gregory of Freeport, ME, and their daughters; Anna Elizabeth Gregory of Freeport, ME, and Mary Katherine Gregory of Boston, MA, and 12 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Thomas, a granddaughter Lucille, and her siblings, James, Annabelle, Mary Rose and "Jackie".
Katherine will be laid to rest with her husband at the Italian Independent Cemetery in Glen Lyon, PA.
