Barbara "Patti" Howell, age 91, of Russellville, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. She was born March 17, 1931, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Charley George and Marie Francis Benscoter Bowes. Her entire family felt her love. Her friend Lucile was quoted as saying "Patti was my gold, and now that she is gone, I am penniless." Patti was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3928. She was a very independent lady that loved playing bingo and going to the casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Jean Shirts Bowes; three sons, Steve and Mark Dawson, and Tom Tomich; one brother, Chuck Bowes; and one sister, Polly Nichols. She is survived by a son, Paul Dawson (Rhonda); six daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Dave Kesterson, Barbara Guerrero (Son), Kat Tomich, Diann Mikkelson (Jeff), Jackie Howell, and Julie Howell (Rick); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her lifelong friend, Lucile Gerjevich; and her loving dog, Roland. All services are private and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
