A native of Toombs County, Georgia, she was a daughter of John Thomas "Tom" Galbreath, Sr. and Mary Ruby Booth Galbreath. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Austin was predeceased by her husband, James Henry "Jim" Austin, Sr.; son, James Henry "Jim" Austin, Jr.; brothers, John T. Galbreath, Jr., Infant Galbreath, LeRoy "Roy" Galbreath, Dan Galbreath, and Samuel "Sam" Galbreath; and sisters, Pearl Whitfield, Ruby Galbreath, Daisy Galbreath, Katherine Owens, Elizabeth "Libby" Ruis, and Margarette Morrison.
Mrs. Austin is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Austin was cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mount Zion Cemetery in Bethesda, Maryland. No funeral is planned.
