Virgil Deward Gann passed away in Oklahoma City, June 27, 2022 at the age of 81.

Virgil was born March 12 , 1941 in Carson, Oklahoma to Jewell Rupert Gann and Vallie Shipley Gann. Virgil graduated from Dustin School. He married Billye Baldwin on April 4, 1958 in Lamar. Virgil was an IOUE Local 627 Union Pipeline Operator, Boom Hand. He attended Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville. He was a 33rd degree Mason. Virgil was the caretaker at the Lamar Cemetery for several years. He loved animals, birds, working, his grandchildren and visiting with friends and family.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, wife Billye June Gann and brother Jerrel Gann. He is survived by children, Mark Gann of Holdenville, Shelia Singer of Ada, J. R. Gann and wife Robin of Horntown, Keith Gann of Lamar, grandkids; Jon-Eric Gann and Lacey, Amber Johnson and Dex, Carrie Maxwell and Coy Curry, Michelle Suarez and Sergio, Dillon Gann and Ashley, Zach Gann, Ethan Gann and Olivia, Jonathan Hudson and Alex, Jamie Atwood and Dakota, and 14 great grandchildren. Virgil is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Mark Gann, J.R. Gann, Keith Gann, Jon-Eric Gann, Dillon Gann, Zach Gann, Ethan Gann and Jonathan Hudson.

Honorary pallbearers are Phil Medler Sr., Phil Medler Jr. Charles Gann, John Freeman, Billy Dale McCoy, Keith McCoy, Dale Gann, Dewayne Cox, and Tony Zofrea.

Viewing will be 1:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday, June 29th and 9:00AM-7:00PM Thursday, June 30th at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, 2:00 pm., June 1, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville. Rev. Earl Scroggins will officiate and music by Marla Chesser.

Interment will follow at the Lamar Cemetery.
