Private graveside services for Brenda Sue Williams-Abney, 70, of Athens, will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Athens.
Brenda went to her forever home Friday, June 24, 2022, after her short battle with cancer.
Brenda was born September 28, 1951, in Athens, Texas, the daughter of Betty Louis (Lambright) Quinn and James A. Quinn.
She was the widow of Roy Rodney Williams, Jr. Brenda and Rodney married in 1970 and had one son, Roy Rodney Williams III (Trey).
Brenda was known for her many talents which include her interior decorating skills, ceramics and crafting, and her famous home cooking. She was a devoted Christian and loving mother, wife, sister, and friend to many, who will greatly miss her and especially her cooking. Brenda was always helping and doing for others and would give the shirt off her back and help you put it on if that is what you needed.
Brenda is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Louis Richardson and her father, James A. Quinn of Athens; honorary parents, Bess and Thomas Johnson of Athens; brothers Jimmy Quinn, Ricky Quinn, and Jeff Quinn of Athens.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy H. Abney of Athens; son Roy Rodney Williams III of Athens, sisters Linda L. Miley of Athens, Kay Holt and husband Joe of Athens; brother Tommy L. Johnson of Athens, grandchildren, Heather M. Perez and husband John of Garland, Heath L. Culp of Heartland; step-children Rusty B. Abney and wife Brandy of Athens, Wendy K. Abney of Athens, and Page A. Tuttle and husband Timmy of Rockwall; five step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter Naomi Perez; one step-great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Autry Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
