Marva Lou Brown was born to Claude James Allen and Irma Louise Allen on September 7, 1946 in Vallejo, CA. She was a graduate of Vallejo Senior High School in 1964. She was very active in the school choir and the drama club. She was the first black woman to participate in the Miss Solano County Beauty Pageant in 1963. At Vallejo High School she met Sammy Eugene Brown. They later married. Their union produced three children Stephan, Sheree and Marlon.

She was a great lover of music, singing, acting, and performing of the arts. As an adult, she performed in various Bay Area productions throughout the years.

Marva accepted Christ at a young age. Her Christian life began at Vallejo Temple C.O.G.I.C. This is where her appreciation for the gospel started. Throughout her Christian journey she participated in many choirs, praise and worship teams and theatrical productions. She has been blessed to be a member of several churches in her adult life including, Abundant Life Christian Center of Hayward (Pastor Jean Ferguson), New Beginnings Church of Sacramento (Pastor John Doe), and Life Words Church of Sacramento (Pastor Montre' Everett).

Professionally, Marva started her career with the U.S. Government at 20 years of age as an administrative assistant at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. She continued her service with the government as a field representative for Social Security Administration. She retired in 2001 after 35 years of dedicated service.

Marva was proceeded in death by her parents, Claude Allen and Irma Allen, and two siblings Jean Ferguson and Claude Allen Jr.

She is survived by three children Stephan Eugene Brown, Sheree Simone Brown, Marlon Antone Brown; daughter in law, Nakia Gibson; grandchildren Tyisha Chawnte Brown, Nyla Priestly-Brown, Neveah Juanita Simone Brown, Nalayah Nadine Brown, her favorite neice Rhonda Ferguson, and A host of nieces, nephews, and special friends that Loved her deeply. She will be missed by all.

The family would like to acknowledge the many heartfelt expressions of love and kindness during this time of bereavement. May the Lord God Almighty bless and keep you all.
