Marjorie Fontenot Guillory, aged 78, died 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in Lafayette after a courageous battle with cancer.

Committal at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Guillory was born February 3, 1929 in Crowley to the late Raymond and Edith Trahan Fontenot. She was a longtime resident of Lake Charles after retiring from McNeese State University and Barbe High School in dietary, her family returned to Estherwood. She was a member of Saint Margaret's home rosary group and Saint Margaret's Ladies Altar Society. She also served many years on the bereavement committee.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of 53 years Joseph Winford Guillory; a son, Darrell Guillory and wife Teddi of Lake Charles; her daughter, Charlotte Sigue and husband Tim of Lafayette; two sisters, Della F. Hanks of Lafayette and Ethel F. Thibodeaux and her husband Emery of Midland; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Paul Istre; her daughter, Gloria Istre Johnson; a brother, Raymond Fontenot, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Irving "Earl" Hanks.
