Texas, Dallas - ANN SLEDGE CRAIN passed away January 21, 2008 at her Dallas home. Born May 26, 1915, in Memphis, TN, she was a dedicated volunteer for many years at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and also gave of her time and talents working with the Flower Guild at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, where she was a faithful member for many years. She was a devoted grandmother and wonderful friend to many. She celebrated life to the fullest. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Monroe Crain; their son, Mac Crain; and by her only brother. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Susan Crain; grandson, Byron Crain and fiancée, Kelly Smith; sister-in-law, Mary Sledge; nieces and nephews, Anne Sledge, Edward Sledge, Lester and Brenda Crain; and a host of friends, both in Memphis and Dallas. A Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 24 at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road at Walnut Hill Lane. She will be inurned in Memphis Friday, January 25 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Ann's name to any charity of choice.
