Only Child of Family Died at Grandparents' Home at Durham After Week's Illness

Hamilton Chamberlaine Jones 4th, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton C. Jones of this city, died in Durham, at the home of Mrs. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Erwin, yesterday morning at 4 o'clock, following a week's illness with colitis.

The remains arrived in the city last night at 11 o'clock accompanied by the grief-stricken parents and Mr. and Mrs. Erwin and youngest daughter, Mrs. Hargrove Bellamy of Durham and Mr. and Mrs. James Wharton Glenn of Winston-Salem and Rev. S.S. Bost of Durham, pastor of Mr. Erwin and family.

The funeral will take place at the home in Myers park this morning at 11 o'clock, and will be conducted by Mr. Bost.

Those selected to act as pallbearers were named as follows: Louis C. Burwell, Henry M. McAden, Jack Glenn of Winston-Salem, Frank Caldwell, Watkins Robards, John Tate, Jim Walker, George E. Wilson and John Bass Brown.

Hundreds of friends in this city and Durham will sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Jones in the loss of their beautiful little boy. Hamilton would have been two years old on August 4 and was an exceptionaly bright and lovable child with large brown eyes and happy disposition. He was the idol of the home and his death comes as a crushing blow to the young parents and grandparents, Mrs. Hamilton C. Jones, Sr, and Mr. and Mrs. Erwin. He was the only grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin.
