Floyd Edward Warterfield III, age 92, of Weatherford, Texas passed away Saturday June 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He died in the comfort of his home alongside his beloved wife of 60 years.
Floyd "Ed" Warterfield was born in 1930 to Floyd E. Warterfield, Jr. and Dorothy Barth Warterfield in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy and was soon drafted during the Korean War and served in the United States Army.
Upon return to the states, the first 10 years of his career was spent working as a civil engineer on multi-structural projects followed by working the next 30 years for The International Playtex Corporation and was recognized as one of their outstanding salesmen.
Some of Edward's greatest enjoyments included watching war documentaries, hockey, football, and baseball. Furthermore, he was an avid outdoors man, spending most of his free time hunting and fishing. From the time he was a young boy he loved to catch fish. His dream of owning a house on a lake one day eventually became a reality in the year 2000 when he and his wife moved to Possum Kingdom Lake. Edward spent his days fishing, feeding the deer, and enjoying the great outdoors. He loved teaching his children and granddaughter to fish and cherished special times together.
Edward will be remembered by his wife, Carolyn Bartos Warterfield, son John Milton Warterfield (wife Ann Marie), son Robert Tracy Warterfield, granddaughter Bailey Marie Pendergraft (husband Brent), and brother John Robert Warterfield.
Floyd Edward Warterfield III shared many wonderful memories with his Baylor Country family and friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour with Rev. Jay Gage officiating.
