Rudolph L. Austreng, 65, Chelan, died at his home early Friday morning following an extended illness.

Born in Reynolds, N.D., on Nov. 29, 1908, he moved to Blackduck, Minn., with his family when a small child. He married Alice Short there on Sept. 13, 1935. They came to Chelan in 1965.

Surviving are his wife at home; two sons, Larry Austreng, Chelan, and Richard Austreng, U.S. Marine Corps., El Toro Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Koebernick, Bemidji, Minn.; two brothers, Melvin Austreng, Blackduck, Minn., and Jack Austreng, Duluth, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. William Wilson, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Oscar Heyer, Superior, Wis., and Mrs. Olgar Sessing, of Blackduck; and four grandchildren.
