College Place
Erma H. Debar-Appel, 90, of Walla Walla, and formerly a long-time resident of Manson, died Sunday evening, September 14, 2003, at College Place.
She was born June 7, 1913, at Pampa, WA, the daughter of Axel and Emma (Nelson) Holm. She attended schools at Lacrosse and was graduated from Lacrosse High School in
1930.
On May 10, 1936, she was married to James Debar at Lacrosse. They resided at Manson where they owned and operated apple orchards for many years.
Mr. Debar preceded her in death in 1969.
In 1987, she was married to Donald Appel and they resided at Dusty. He preceded her in death in December 1988.
She then moved to Lacrosse. Since 1996, she has resided at Walla Walla near her daughter.
She was a member of Manson United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Manson Grange.
Survivors include three daughters: Nancy Dover, of Walla Walla; Sandra King, of Coulee Dam; Lavina Phillips, of Yelm; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will take place Friday, September 19, at 11 a.m. at Manson United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed O'Dell officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Manson United Methodist Church or a favorite charity. Services are under direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
