Helen Ruth Burgett, age 90, passed away on June 26, 2022 in Garden Ridge, Texas. She was born to Edna Delores Guarr and Elvin Ray Chisolm on August 9, 1931 in Lepanto, Arkansas.
Helen dearly loved her family and loved keeping a welcoming home. She hosted holidays and family dinners and enjoyed recounting stories about growing up on a farm in Arkansas. She kept her family anchored, even as they moved to various locations with the U.S. Air Force. She was an amazing artist and creative spirit. Helen learned oil painting in Japan in the 1960s and later exhibited in galleries in California and Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eleanor Doris Chisolm; brother, John Bassett Chisolm.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 73 years; a brother; a sister; 2 daughters; a son; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
