Jonathan, 32, was born March 6, 1990 in Panama to Theodore and Maria Elena (Florez Ortiz) Peterson.
He attended school in Panama and Rapid City, South Dakota and graduated from Rapid City Academy in 2009. Jonathan worked at J&J Asphalt as a member of the dirt crew at the time of his passing.
Jonathan enjoyed being an incredible father to his three beautiful sons who were the light of his life. He had an impeccable talent for creating many forms of art. In addition, he enjoyed sharing his huge passion for music with others. He was a man who exuded joy and was full of mischievous good-hearted spirit and a zest for life and laughter. Jon made a huge and lasting impact on the lives he touched, especially his large and loving "JP tribe" of friends.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Maria Peterson of Rapid City, South Dakota; maternal grandmother, Maria Ortiz of Colombia; sons, Hudson, Orion and Tobias of Rapid City, South Dakota; sister, Alexandra Johnston (Josh) of Rapid City, South Dakota; brother, Steven Peterson (Yolanda) of Orange, CA and fiancé Nina Mesteth of Rapid City, Douth Dakota. He is also survived by his uncle, aunts, nieces and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Peterson; paternal grandparents, Knut (memorial 12198034) and Guida (memorial 123030838) Peterson; maternal grandfather, José Florez; uncles, José Erminson Florez, German Florez, Wayne Peterson, Marlin Peterson and aunt Shirley Wagner.
