John William Long, age 68, of Columbia City, passed away June 21, 2022 at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne. John was born in Garrett, Indiana on February 14, 1954 to the late Harold Russell Long, Sr. and Ruth Francis (Maners) Long. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 1972 and was employed as a truck driver with Ruan Transport. During his tenure with Ruan, he was named regional "Driver of The Year" and received multiple safe driving awards. He married the love of his life, Jody Egolf, on May 29, 1976 at Blue River Church of God near Columbia City. John was a hard-working guy. He enjoyed woodworking and yard work, traveling and going on vacations. He was an amateur astronomer. He was a true friend to many and always put others ahead of himself. He loved a good laugh and to joke around. He was an awesome uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Wife, Jody Long of Columbia City.
Sister, Nancy Tulley of Durango, Colorado.
Brother, Harold "Russ" and Karen Long, Jr. of Auburn.
Sister, Martha Fisher of Ashley.
Many nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Eagle Glen Event Center, 125 South Eagle Glen Trail, Columbia City, Indiana.
