Melissa Nolen was born on June 21, 1978 at Sturgis Hospital in Sturgis Michigan to Bill and Sheryl Colbes. As a child she spent a lot of her pass time with her grandparents, Ross and Minnie Nolen with whom she loved and adored. She had fond memories of working at Dairy Queen bringing home ice cream to share with her grandparents Ross and Minnie. She later went on to meet the love of her life, Joey Tims of Minden Louisiana with whom she had two children, Skyler and Savannah Tims. She was a very loving mother that doited over her children's many accomplishments and talents. Particularly Skyler's Track & Football and Savannah's Basketball & Softball. Melissa enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. That was one of her ways of showing her love to them. Melissa also enjoyed antiquing where she always found something for one or more of them, depending on her find that day! Some of her favorite pass time was sewing and crocheting. She had a love for God and the beautiful things he created from sunflowers to butterflies. Her favorite color was green. That later changed to purple because it represented her battle with Crohn's disease. She survived cancer while battling Crohn's disease for many years which lead to her passing on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Claiborne Memorial Hospital in Homer Louisiana.
She will be deeply missed. This is not a goodbye, it's a see you later!
