"Lizzie" Bynum was the youngest of 3 children born to Edward Turner Bynum and Maud Barnes of Tarboro, Edgecombe Co, NC.
Only 2 years old when her father died, she was raised by her widowed mother in the impressive two-story Victorian Italianate her father built in 1885 on Main Street.
She married David Morrisette, a ticket agent for the railroad, and became mother to two known children: Maud (b. 1909) and Elizabeth (b. 1911).
Lizzie was widowed in 1929 when her husband died at age 52 from cancer. She survived him 39 years until she passed in 1968 at an Enfield, NC nursing home at about age 80.
