Rita J. Bush was born in Great Bend, KS. Daddy called her "Blondie." Our family, three siblings, moved all over the USA while our dad built grain elevators, cement plants, and anything slip-form concrete. Our mother was a great team-mate, enjoying the new geographic and cultural areas. Moving around was challenging for Rita. She was very smart and made excellent grades, but she was quite social and had a hard time moving away from friends. She graduated from Sandia View Academy and attended Walla Walla University where she met her husband, Don Bush. They both graduated from Union College, Lincoln, Nebraska. Rita later got her Master's in Social Work from Walla Walla University. She set up her own counseling agency in Walla Walla while Don built homes. Rita started a support group for those who carried the burden of loved ones. She was known throughout the county as the best-ever social worker and counselor, helping myriads of people. Everyone loved her, especially her family and close friends. Rita and Don had four children: Katrina, Trisha, Francesca, and Donny; later, they enjoyed their six grandchildren. Rita passed away from glioblastoma, a fast-growing brain tumor. We all miss her every day. She was fun and funny, intelligent, caring and compassionate, a woman of integrity, and highly spiritual. She set the standard high for all those around her.
