Gordon Thompson, 95, of Tacoma, Washington, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Tacoma General Hospital.

Private family graveside services will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars.

Gordon was born on April 20, 1927, in Swea City, Iowa to his parents, Bill and Minnie Thompson. He graduated from Swea City High School in 1941 and went on to attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Gordon worked as an Electrical engineer in both Sheldon and Le Mars, Iowa until 1988. He served in the US Army during WWII.

He married Helen on June 12, 1955. They were married for 57 years and raised four children.

Gordon is survived by his son, Terry (Kris) Thompson; daughters, Vicky Swan, Sarah Albers, Rebecca (Tom) Aitke;, eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Helen.
