Lester A. Henry

GLEN ROCK - Lester A. Henry, 85, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Sunday January 20, 2008, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth A. (Smeltzer) Henry.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with the Rev. Paula Murray, pastor of St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Zion (Shaffer's) Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Henry was born on May 1, 1922, in Codorus Township, a son of the late Allen F. and Katie (Strausbaugh) Henry.
He was employed as a truck driver for over 35 years with the former McCullough Oil Company, New Freedom and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Henry of Shrewsbury, Susan A. Howell of Manchester; a son, Dennis A. Henry of McSherrystown; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Allene Mummert of Spring Grove, Marie Amspacher of Glen Rock, and Fern Albright of Stewartstown; and a brother, Robert Henry of Glen Rock.
He was predeceased by a sister, Romaine Miller.
